What are the most recent trends in travel and prevailing tourist preferences concerning Czechia and Poland?
Czech tourism to Poland has surged in recent years, with nearly half a million Czech travellers staying in Polish hotels in 2025 alone. Beyond the rapid expansion of highways and modern accommodation, this growth is driven by high-quality cycling networks, local gastronomy, and significantly improved transport links. Connectivity has reached new heights: there are five daily flights from Prague to Warsaw, plus regular services to Kraków, Gdańsk, and Poznań. Furthermore, the “Baltic Express” has transformed travel to the Tri-City with four daily departures, contributing to a remarkable total of seven direct rail connections every day between the two capitals.
In recent years, active Czech travellers have increasingly embraced the Baltic coast for its temperate climate. Unlike the hotter Mediterranean, the Baltic offers the perfect environment for day-long hikes and cycling – boasting a continuous 500 km coastal path. It has also become a premier destination for water sports across its sea, rivers, and glacial lakes.
While Czech travellers are already well-acquainted with western Poland, they are increasingly looking toward the east – exploring regions like Lublin, the Masurian Lakes, and the Bieszczady Mountains. This shift is driven by the growing “slowlife” movement, which offers an authentic escape into multicultural landscapes filled with national parks, diverse religious sites, and unique local flavours. In my view, this blend of nature and heritage is set to become the standout travel trend of the coming season.
