In Building Management, We Prioritise Environmental Protection and Cost Savings for Our Clients

We had an interesting discussion with Daniel Digon, CEO of ATALIAN CZ, regarding the management and maintenance of company assets, the application of ESG principles, and the circular economy. The insights from the top executive of the leading facility management company are certainly worth considering.

Your company is part of the multinational ATALIAN Group, which is dedicated to sustainable development principles. Are you able to implement this approach in the Czech Republic?
Yes, absolutely. In the Czech Republic, we have been successful in applying the principles of sustainable development in many aspects of our services. We use environmentally friendly cleaning products, integrate modern technology and artificial intelligence into the day-to-day management and operation of buildings. For example, by using the right lighting, we can save costs while improving the working comfort of our employees. Deploying robots in cleaning saves time and money, as robots can work without interruption and often do not even need chemical cleaning agents, which contributes to the environment. For example, we are also installing tap aerators, which generate significant water savings, and are working with grey water. We use smart sensors for energy management and reduce the energy consumption of buildings. Our cleaning drones for facades and windows are fast and safe. We also use thermal imaging drones to help detect heat leaks and optimise the energy efficiency of buildings. I could go on like this in virtually every service area we provide… When technology and people come together, we can protect the environment and save clients costs. Fulfilling the ESG principles is not just a phrase for us, but a real commitment.

We strive to make it part of our culture across the company. We look for the small things that every employee can do that have the biggest impact. For example, a small tap aerator on a tap saves 90% of water.

The core services you offer include innovative facility management. How can your help transform a company’s ESG profile and set a new standard for business?
We aim to change the way people think – managers, client employees, and our own staff. We strive to convince clients to implement holistic solutions because everything is interconnected. We ensure every service is ESG compliant and guide our suppliers and partners to follow suit. This includes using green cleaning products, managing energy with renewable sources, and automating energy management. We practice environmental and economic responsibility daily by optimising our company vehicle routes, implementing cost-saving measures, and continually seeking new ways to meet sustainable standards. We believe in measuring and evaluating everything, following the proven rule: if you do not measure, you cannot manage.

You are participating in the Expo Cirk Ostrava exhibition. What motivated you to showcase your innovations and achievements to a broader audience beyond just professionals?
Expo Cirk Ostrava offers us a unique chance to present our innovations and achievements to a broader audience, not just industry experts. At this exhibition, we aim to demonstrate how our technologies and services contribute to sustainable development and can inspire other sectors. We are showcasing our advanced cleaning robots, which enhance cleaning efficiency while minimising the ecological footprint by using less water and fewer chemicals. While technology will not replace the human element, it can significantly benefit society. We want to show that incorporating these innovations into daily operations is straightforward and beneficial.

We are confident that our presentation at this exhibition can encourage other companies and organisations to implement sustainable practices and innovations, thereby enhancing the overall environment. Furthermore, we eagerly anticipate meeting fascinating individuals and gaining insights into their perspectives on ESG, sustainability, and technology.

Thank you for the interview.
