The coronavirus crisis has presented the Czech Republic with a signifi cant decision. That is to fi nd the right path for economic transformation and digitalization. The Czech Republic can join the economically prosperous countries of the free world or forever remain only an assembly and transhipment centre of Central Europe, where cheap labour is cultivated. For this reason, we are mapping the views of experienced managers on the goals the Czech Republic should achieve in the coming years. We bring you the opinions of the managers awarded in the following four competition categories.
Awards in the Category – Public Administration
Ing. Tomáš Kotyza, MBA, Director of the Regional Governor’s Offi ce of the Moravian-Silesian Region
It gives us great satisfaction for all the years of getting management to take innovative approaches to service development and management of the institution. The award gives recognition to my entire team of colleagues. After years of hard work, I look back and see a modern institution full of modern and passionate people. The regional government, including the regional corporation, is a friendly institution, as well as helpful and reliable. And to be among the top 10 Czech managers? That is a dream come true. And proof that management in the public sector can be at the same high level as in business. In the public sector, managers lack motivation in the form of shares in economic results; they have to look elsewhere. This is another excellent incentive and a challenge for me to continue my work.
