The vogue of electric bicycles has caught up with the management community. We discussed e-bikes with Daniel Dorica, the largest seller of e-bikes in the Czech Republic and the Managing Director of DD PNEU Ltd. Under the brand name Haibike Morava, he offers customers VIP professional service for purchased bikes and the opportunity to try electric bikes on the test track “CIHELNA”.
You have recently opened a modern showroom. How do you take care of your customers there?
In 2017, we started selling Haibike sport e-bikes in a 100 m2 showroom. In 2019, we built and opened a new 300 m2 shop, and now, in June 2023, we have expanded the sales area, service and warehouse to a total of 700 m2. We are the largest Haibike electric bike dealer in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We are unique in that we only sell this one brand, which allows us to have over 400 Haibike e-bikes in stock and to provide professional service. Thanks to this, customers from Aš to Košice visit us and do not hesitate to come to us from far away. The customer is always our most important partner, so we take the utmost care of them. I will explain how we care for them in the second question.
The management clientele is demanding. What services do you offer for VIP clients?
Even though Haibike e-bikes have a slightly higher price tag, their top quality makes them sought after by a wide range of customers. Of course, the more demanding and affluent customers among businessmen and managers will come on to it on their own. I have to say that we consider every customer who visits our shop a VIP. Our main priority is spending as much time as the customer needs to get all the information required, which leads to the right choice of an e-bike. Our experienced and helpful sales staff are always at the customer’s disposal, happy to advise on everything and allow anyone to test any of the 160 e-bike models on display in our shop. Customers can also choose from a wide range of quality accessories, including the possibility of subsequent assembly.
We also offer the opportunity to test what Haibike e-bikes can do directly in the field on our unique “CIHELNA” test track. This is a natural trail 700 meters long, where you can test the dynamics, stability, suspension, brakes, shifting, traction, and, in general, how the e-bike behaves in a natural terrain. We are the only shop in the Czech Republic and Slovakia with such a test track.
As I always point out, anyone can sell a bike, but what sets us apart again is our professional service. Regular and professional service is crucial for the long lifespan of the bike, the quality of the ride, and,
consequently, customer satisfaction. Customers can book a service via our website, where they simply choose a date and time, which is then reserved just for them.
We have also built a comfortable shop background to make each customer feel like they´re on velvet. We offer ample parking spaces outside the store, free electric car charging stations, delicious coffee, baked paninis and other snacks, including ice lollies. There is also a relaxation area to make waiting for your bike to be prepared or waiting for service more enjoyable. The relaxation area includes comfortable leather sofas and chairs, wifi access, and a massage chair. All rooms in our shop are air-conditioned. I would also like to mention our approach to energy sustainability. We have a photovoltaic power plant with battery storage on the roof, which provides 70% of our year-round energy consumption for cooling, heating, lighting, and charging electric bikes and cars.

Haibike bikes have won awards for design and innovation. What makes them unique?
The German company Haibike has been a manufacturer of traditional bicycles since 1995. In 2009, it introduced the first mountain e-bike on the market, not only changing this segment of cycling but also becoming the leader in e-bike production with a significant technological leap forward. The annual design and innovation awards are an example of this. Customers greatly appreciate the design, the quality of workmanship, the originality of the solutions, the quality of the parts, the excellent riding characteristics and the high reliability. Haibike uses its unique frames with perfect geometry. They are manufactured in Europe using original gravity casting technology, which makes them much more robust, lighter, and long-lasting. Haibike also equips electric bikes with the best motors in the world – Yamaha and Bosch. They excel with incredible rideability, natural assistance, excellent dynamics, their long life, and high reliability. First-class batteries with a long service life are a foregone conclusion. As part of the innovation this year, Haibike is also starting to sell the lightest mountain e-bike in its range. This is the Lyke, which weighs just 8 kg. Again, it is a gem of design and technology.
